Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what GuessClash (guessclash.com), operated by Founder Panda, stores in your browser, what each item is for, and how you can remove or refuse it.
The short version: most of what we store is the game itself โ your session, your theme and your sound preference. Analytics and advertising are separate, and you can turn them off at any time from the cookie preference section below.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a site saves in your browser. Local storage does a similar job, but the information stays in your browser and is not sent to the server automatically with every request.
The Platform relies mostly on local storage, so most of what we keep never leaves your device unless the game explicitly sends it.
2. What we store in your browser
2.1 Strictly necessary โ the game will not work without these
- kt_token โ your sign-in token (a JWT). It stops you having to sign in again on every page load. Removed when you sign out.
- kt_uid โ your user id, used to match you to the right player in match and arena connections.
- kt_user โ the last known summary of your profile (name, level, points), so your profile appears instantly on load before it is refreshed from the server.
2.2 Preferences โ these remember your choices
- kt_theme โ your dark/light theme choice.
- Sound preference โ whether sound effects and music are on, and at what volume.
If these are deleted, the game still works; your preferences simply return to their defaults.
2.3 Statistics โ optional
- kt_cookie_consent โ stores the choice you made in the cookie banner, so the banner does not reappear on every visit.
- Google Analytics cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) โ placed by Google to measure your visit. Details in the next section.
3. Visit statistics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which parts of the site are used, where people run into trouble, and roughly how many visitors we have. The purpose is to improve the game; we do not try to identify anyone personally.
- Measurement is anonymised: your IP address is truncated before processing (anonymize_ip), and identifying details such as your name or email are never sent to Google.
- Typical data collected: the pages you visit, how long you stay, approximate location at city level, device and browser type, and where you arrived from.
- You can refuse this. When you do, Google Analytics stops immediately and is not loaded on later visits. Every game feature keeps working.
4. Advertising
The game is free, and ads are what keep it that way. We use Google AdMob inside the mobile app and Google AdSense on the website. These services may set their own cookies or device identifiers to measure ad performance and, where you have consented, to personalise the ads you see.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google account settings, or in your device settings on Android and iOS. Doing so does not remove ads โ it only makes them non-personalised.
5. Other third-party services
- Sign in with Google โ only when you use that button. Google uses its own cookies to verify your session.
- Google reCAPTCHA โ the "I'm not a robot" check on the email sign-up screen. Google uses cookies and interaction data to tell humans from bots.
- Google Fonts โ the site's typefaces are loaded from Google servers.
How these services handle data is governed by Google's own privacy policy and is outside our control.
6. What we do not use
- Social media tracking pixels.
- Cross-site retargeting networks beyond the Google advertising services named above.
- Selling your personal data to anyone.
7. Your cookie preference
On your first visit a notice appears at the bottom of the page. Statistics run until you decide; if you choose "Decline" they stop immediately. You can change your mind at any time with the button below:
Note: strictly necessary and preference items (session, theme, sound) are required for the game to work and cannot be switched off. No data is sent to third parties for them.
8. How to clear or block them
Choosing Sign Out removes your sign-in token and profile summary. To clear everything, use your browser's site-data tools:
- Chrome: Settings โ Privacy and security โ Clear browsing data
- Safari: Settings โ Safari โ Clear History and Website Data
- Firefox: Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings โ Cookies and site permissions
Careful: deleting the strictly necessary items signs you out. If your account has no email and password yet, your session token is its only key โ clearing it may make that account unrecoverable. Blocking all cookies may prevent you from signing in at all.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the Platform gains new features. The current version is always published here, and the "last updated" date above changes with it.
