📢 Announcements

This is where changes to the site are written down. New modes, new rules, seasonal events, adjustments to how leagues are scored, fixes for the things players wrote in about — if it affects how the site behaves, it is announced here rather than shipped quietly and left for people to notice.

The site changes more often than most players realise. A mode arrives; a scoring rule that looked fair on paper turns out to reward the wrong behaviour and gets rewritten; a button that everybody misses moves somewhere obvious. Announcements exist so none of that arrives as a surprise in the middle of a match, and so you can tell the difference between a change and a fault. If your league standing looks strange after an update, this page usually explains why before you have to ask.

Seasonal events are posted here too: limited-time boards, holiday puzzles, and the occasional competition with something at the end of it. Those come and go, so the archive is worth a scroll if you have been away for a while — it is the quickest way to catch up on what happened while you were not playing.

Every post has its own page and its own link, which makes it easy to send a friend the one paragraph that matters instead of the whole history. If you would rather be told than remember to check, notifications can be switched on and off individually in your settings, on the web and in the app, with quiet hours if you would rather not hear from us at night. And when you are finished reading, the rest of the site is one tap away: a duel against a real opponent, the day's crossword game, or any of the other word games on the home screen — including a solo word puzzle if you would rather not race anybody this evening.
