About Us

GuessClash started with a simple idea: take the familiar pleasure of a word puzzle and put a real opponent on the other side of it. Instead of a quiet grid you solve alone, you get a game where you hold your breath, your fingers speed up in the last seconds, and you laugh out loud when you win.

What kind of game is it?

Every round hides a word. Letters light up as you guess: green is the right letter in the right place, yellow is in the word but somewhere else, grey is not in the word at all. That part is familiar. The twist is the buzzer: whoever starts typing first gets the turn, and if they miss it, the turn passes to their opponent. That single rule turns a puzzle into a duel.

What we care about

A word list worth playing. Our English dictionary is curated by hand, not scraped. Obscure entries are kept out of the hidden-word pool, so the answer is always something you could reasonably know โ€” while a much larger list stays valid for your guesses.

Fair scoring. Points reward playing fast *and* playing well. In the daily league only your best result of the day counts, so nobody climbs the table just by grinding all day.

Speed and simplicity. The game opens straight in your browser, with nothing to install. Creating an account takes one field โ€” pick a name and play; you can secure it with an email and password whenever you like.

Ads in their place. Ads keep the game free, but nothing interrupts a round or gets between you and your opponent.

Who we are

GuessClash is made by a small team. We build it by playing it: when a new mode lands we play it ourselves first, then tune its pace and balance with player feedback. Every detail you see โ€” from the sound of a tile flipping to the league rewards โ€” went through that loop.
